I've lost that Christmas feeling

I've started to lose my Christmas cheer. Maybe it's because we've been listening to Christmas music since mid-November (yeah, not smart on my part at all). Maybe it's because the kids are bickering all damn day long and nothing I do gets them to stop. Maybe it's because to wrap Christmas presents I have to go into our frigid unfinished basement at night and quite frankly, I'm just too tired and I despise being cold. Maybe it's because Doug's Christmas vacation doesn't start until the 24th and I don't even get a vacation. Maybe it's because with all that we have to do, it stinks that Doug isn't home at all tonight as Meg has hockey and then HE has hockey and I've got kids by myself for 12 hours straight and no time to make Christmas cookies or wrap presents or even go pee without someone needing me.

But I'm going to suck it up and go about my business as I always do. There's laundry to be washed, dried and maybe even folded and possibly put away. There are snacks to be given, girls to potty train and little boys to kiss. There are books to read, a house to clean and Christmas cheer to be found. I think I'll start with some Christmas music.

Oy.....we have guests coming tomorrow for the next week and I have yet to even thing about menus for each day, let alone go to the grocery store. Seriously, when do mammas have time to get stuff done? :) Hope you get some relaxing time once Doug starts vaca. Until then, I'll assume you're up until the wee hours of the morning (like me!) scrambling around to get things done while the rest of the house sleeps. :)

PS wondering how potty training is going? griff has yet to go #2 on the potty. he totally skipped yesterday while he was in undies. i'm sure anytime now he'll be hiding in a corner while he goes and I'll have to cut his new undies off of him. :)

I think Christmas Vacation is the best thing to put me in the mood. Because no matter how f'ed my christmas is - that is WAY worse and it's SO awesome.

i've lost it too. second day of the kids 2 week xmas break and they are driving me nuts. they cannot be in the same room w/out bickering and i'm about to beat the hell out of them. ok, not really. but MAN they're making me crazy. i think maybe i'll try making them watch elf w/ me. if that doesn't work i'm going to lock them in their rooms.

I second watching Christmas Vacation.

My Christmas cheer is sloooooow to get going this year. All gifts are bought. I need to wrap them. Get the menu planned and food bought for Christmas dinner. Coordinate who's going where and when.

But, my girl is SO excited for the jolly dude in a red suit. That's helping :)
